Destiny, My Drinking Buddy

Hi, my name is Timothy. And I enjoy Destiny.

It has been 6.5 hours since my last Herioc Strike.

I don't have a problem. I am not hooked on Destiny. I like it, I like the world. I think the story is good (I also think they are playing the long game with the story and gamers don't have the patience for it).

I play a lot of games. Since Destiny has launched I have played Black Ops 3, The Division Alpha and Beta, Thief, Deer God, How to Survive, Battlefront, Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, Farcry 4, Assassins Creed Unity, Evolve, and Shadows of Mordor. To name a few. I jump back to some of them no and again. The game I go back to when I just have the gamers itch? Destiny, it's my Desitin®.

I have thought long and hard about the why's of this. Let's see if I can explain.

It's a clean, crisp adventure. No one can doubt the brilliance of Destiny as a shooter. Tight, responsive controls.

It's segmented. If I have fifteen minutes I can pound out a Strike and be satisfied. If I need something more I can dive into a raid (Oryx, I'm coming for you!) Or I can explore the planets, moons or ships and collect loot. no commitment, just exploring.

The game isn't frustrating difficult or way too simple. Bungie seems to walking a line of dangling the next challenge just high enough that you are willing to jump.

Fresh content. Not as fresh as a lot of people would like, but they are consistent. Who would have thought Sparrow racing would be so addictive! Or a crucible event wrapped around couples.

Feeling a bit peckish, I can jump into Crucible, Destiny's PVP affair. I have a love hate relationship with the PVP, but that is another story.

I won't say it is without fault. I love Destiny faults and all. I love my characters. Well, I love my hunter. She is my everything. I know she will be there for me when I need her. She takes me to all of her favorite places to kill all of her favorite bad guys (she really needs to over S.A.B.E.R. - too much already).

Destiny is my home away from home. Need someone to play with? Come on over, let's play. I think Valus Ta'aurc is having friends over!
