Mobile Me

Mobile gaming is fickle beast. It’s a guilty pleasure enjoyed by the masses. It is also the great distractor. When people are confronted with a lull in their life or schedule it is all too easy to whip out that tiny computer and start crushing candy. In our society I feel we are losing our ability to breathe. We must fill all gaps with something.

Simple questions that would normally get ignored as just filler conversation can get derailed by accessibility of knowledge at our fingertips. Just the other I was having dinner with some friends and our host brings out a massive bottle of Kirkland brand Irish Cream Liquer. And so were curious, what Irish cream is this really as Kirkland does not make anything itself. And so we proceeded down this rabbit hole that lead absolutely nowhere. We did find out there are only five manufacturers of Irish Cream Liquer in Ireland, and that it must be between 15-20%ABV to qualify. But does anyone really care. We should have just popped the top, drank it, decided it is indeed ICL and continued to conversate about more meaningful topics – Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (something I can really sink my teeth into).

Can’t we all just put down our phones and enjoy life around us, breathe a little, not bring Google into all conversations. I am ready to commit to this, to be present in life, in person. Join with me in this revolution! Stand up! Put that phone down!

Actually, I need to go to the bathroom, and I really need my phone for that. I can’t poop without using a Cr-App™ (an app you use while you crap). So let’s keep the revolution out of the bathroom. At least my bathroom. And the one at work. Don’t judge me.
