Marvel vs. DC:
Whose Camp Are You In?

I'm just a boy, standing in front the internet, asking it to love him, because I am about to talk about a very sensitive subject. Super heroes.

Story Driven Narrative, or Just Play the Damn Game.

What motivates you to play games? Once you are playing, what drives you to come back again and again? I find there are a couple of differing factions.

What's New in Gaming: March

A quick list of the games coming out in and around March 2016!

Mobile Me

Mobile gaming is fickle beast. It’s a guilty pleasure enjoyed by the masses. It is also the great distractor. When people are confronted with a lull in their life or schedule it is all too easy to whip out that tiny computer and start crushing candy. In our society I feel we are losing our ability to breathe. We must fill all gaps with something.

One Mans Treasure is Another’s Trash – DLC

Creating extended value for existing content can be challenge. Both in creating it, and selling to the public. I have purchased my fair share of DLC. Lately I have been more turned off by its offerings than excited to continue playing in the sandbox.

It's a Dietary Concern

Gluten free, dairy free, kale, vegetarian, pesco-triglyceride-beer-atarian. We all have certain peculiarities when it comes to what we stick in our mouth. Zombies are no difference. They just need their high protein meals.

That is what makes zombies such the ideal enemy. You can relate to them, we all feel like that in the morning. They look like us without makeup on. And they really want to snack.

Choosing a Console

How do you choose a gaming system?

My curiosity is getting the best of this morning. And I need to know. How do YOU choose one console over another. I am sure there are fan boys (girls too!) that don't care about anything other than the name on the front of the box.

Here is my thought process. And I will mull this over for months! It seems, for me, that there is no clear winner, each has it's own benefits and deficits.

Real Life Hitman

Watch People become Agent 47's Handler!

My curiosity is getting the best of this morning. And I need to know. How do YOU choose one console over another. I am sure there are fan boys (girls too!) that don't care about anything other than the name on the front of the box.

Microsoft Cancels Fable Legends

Talking up your game, making it sound as grand and glorious as possible can be daunting and difficult to remove your dreams from the reality. That may be why I fell in love with Fable.

When Peter Molyneux first spoke of Fable (Project Ego) his dreams and desires were intertwined with truth. An ever changing environment, a character that changes based on how you play not what you pick from a skill tree, a living breathing world. Needless to say I had high hopes. When the game was released in 2005, it was mine, I needed to play it, live it.

Ubisoft Release The Division

I love me some military style shooters. I love me some global apocalypse. Who doesn't? So why am I reticent to jump into Ubisofts The Division?

I was invited to the play beta, take it for a little test drive, see what it is capable of. I came away with a few points of interest regarding the game.

The Trends in Game Development

MOBA is the buzzword in the game world today. What is a MOBA? Move Over Boring Aesthetics? Magic Oysters Bring Allegiance? Or Massively Online Battle Arena. Let's go with the last one.

MOBA's have been around for awhile, the oldest being Defense of the Ancients, which was a mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. That was back in 2003. There are currently28 listed on wikipedia as available, with four yet to come. They range in style from an isometric approach like League of Legends, to FPS style of Overwatch.

Destiny, My Drinking Buddy

I don't have a problem. I am not hooked on Destiny. I like it, I like the world. I think the story is good (I also think they are playing the long game with the story and gamers don't have the patience for it).

I play a lot of games. Since Destiny has launched I have played Black Ops 3, The Division Alpha and Beta, Thief, Deer God, How to Survive, Battlefront, Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, Farcry 4, Assassins Creed Unity, Evolve, and Shadows of Mordor. To name a few. I jump back to some of them no and again. The game I go back to when I just have the gamers itch? Destiny.

The Sad State of Multi-player Games

Maybe I am just old. Not THAT old. Old enough to remember the only way to play video games with a friend was face-to-face. Sitting on a couch, standing next to each other in an arcade, or head to head on a hand held game. AND WE LIKED IT!

I loved, still love, having a friend over, grabbing a beer (or four - don't judge) and having some good smack talking/world saving/tea-bagging fun. Actually witness a crushing defeat on your friends face, getting punched because you stole a kill. It is a different type of interaction.
